Taking to his Twitter account over the weekend, Sterling Gates revealed that he has officially joined the writing staff for The Flash‘s fourth season. Gates is set to share an office with Thomas Pound (Motive), who appears to also be a newcomer to the series.

Gates is a well-known DC Comics writer who has worked on titles such as Supergirl, Forever Evil: A.R.G.U.S., and Justice League of America’s Vibe. Gates also wrote the six-issue digital first Adventures of Supergirl comic book series that focused on the Supergirl‘s first season on CBS.

While Gates is more known for his comic book work, this won’t be his first time working on a comic book property on the small screen. He previously penned the season two episode “Mr. & Mrs. Mxyzptlk” of Supergirl on the CW. He also worked as a writer’s production assistant on the shortly lived Blade: The Series
Filming on The Flash‘s upcoming season officially kicked off last week with the reveal of the season premiere episode’s title. As of right now, not much is known regarding the fourth season. That should change, however, when Comic-Con International in San Diego rolls around as an exclusive first look is set to take place on Saturday in Ballroom 20, with a Q&A session with some of the cast to follow shortly thereafter.
