Watch 100 Years of Anime in Epic Commemorative Movie!


Anime NEXT_100 has released the latest in a series of projects commemorating 100 years of Japanese anime!

A staggering 100 years of animation history has been packed into a 15 minute video, stretching from the earliest surviving animation Namakura Gatana to classics Tetsujin 28-go, Sally the Witch, Galaxy Express 999 and Mobile Suit Gundam before heading into the 80s with Touch and Dragon Ball, and reaching the present day with Your Name.

Did you also spot fan favorites like Sailor Moon, Pokémon, and Sword Art Online?

The official song for the new video, “Tsubasa wo Motsu Mono – Not an angel Just a dreamer”, is performed by 23 top anisong artists led by composer Tanaka Kohei and is also available as a CD single.
