CW Releases Synopsis for Supergirl’s Return Episode


With Supergirl set to emerge from its nine-week hiatus next month, a synopsis for the next episode, “Schott Through the Heart,” teases the death of Winslow “Toyman” Schott Sr., a copycat Toyman and an important conversation between Mon-El and Kara about the Worldkillers.

“Schott Through the Heart” — (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG, LV) (HDTV)

OSCAR-NOMINATED ACTRESS LAURIE METCALF GUEST STARS – When Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) father dies, his estranged mother, Mary (guest star Laurie Metcalf), reappears trying to reconnect and to explain why she abandoned him all those years ago. Winn is too embittered from his rough childhood to forgive her but when a copycat Toyman attacks, the two must work together to stop him. Mon-El (Chris Wood) tells Kara (Melissa Benoist) something important about the Worldkillers, and Alex (Chyler Leigh) becomes suspicious of Myr’nn’s (guest star Carl Lumbly) recent behavior. Glen Winter directed the episode written by Caitlin Parrish & Derek Simon (#314). Original airdate 4/16/2018.

The episode will air the week following the Season 3 finale of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This will be the first episode since the show went on hiatus on February 5. A promo video for the episode was released earlier this month.

Returning Monday, April 16 at 8 p.m. on The CW, Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as the Girl of Steel, David Harewood as Martian Manhunter, Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers and Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott, with appearances by Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant and Tyler Hoechlin as Superman.
