Fox has officially renewed the fan-favorite animated series Bob’s Burgers for a ninth season.
According to Deadline, production is already underway on the show’s ninth season, although a release date has yet to be announced. Despite being considered a bubble series for years, it was expected that Bob’s Burgers would be renewed, however, this marks the first official confirmation of such. What’s interesting to note, though, is that unlike its last renewal notice, which saw Fox grant the series two seasons at once, the network only announced a ninth season pick-up this time.

Bob’s Burgers will be joined Family Guy, which is returning for a seventeenth season, on Fox’s animated line-up. The series, which secured two Emmy wins — in 2014 and 2017 — for Outstanding Animated Program, will soon see a feature film courtesy of series creator Loren Bouchard and Fox Animation and is scheduled to hit theaters in July 2020.
