Pokémon Trading With Friends is Coming to Pokémon GO!

A new Pokémon GO update slated for this week will add a Friends feature to the game, which will finally make Pokémon trading possible!

To become friends, players need to exchange Trainer Codes and send a request. If accepted, the Trainer will be added to your Friends list.

Trainers can trade Pokémon with nearby Friends using Stardust. The better friends you are, the less Stardust required, and you can also make one Special Trade per day which includes Legendary and Shiny Pokémon, as well as Pokémon not in your Pokédex.

Another perk of the new feature is being able to give friends special Gifts gained at PokéStops. You won’t know what’s in the present until your friend opens it, adding a fun element of surprise. There’s even the chance of scoring an egg that will hatch the Alolan form of a Kanto Pokémon.

In addition to these activities, participating in battles together will give your friendship a literal level up! As that Friendship Level increases, you’ll unlock rewards like an Attack bonus earned from participating in a Gym or Raid battle with a Great Friend.
