Kristen Kreuk has joined co-stars Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum as being in favor of an animated revival of the Superman prequel television series, Smallville.
“Yeah, absolutely,” Kreuk told ComicBook.com. “I’ve never thought about it, but that sounds like it could be a lot of fun.”

Welling and Rosenbaum first broached the subject of a Smallville animated series back in April at AwesomeCon in Washington, D.C., when the pair were asked about the possibility of a revival for Warner Bros.’ upcoming DC-branded streaming service, DC Universe.
“I mean, animated could be fun,” Welling responded, who starred for 10 seasons as Clark Kent. Rosenbaum would later add that one advantage to animation is he wouldn’t have to shave his head to portray the Superman nemesis, Lex Luthor.
“Michael wouldn’t want to shave his head again, I’m fairly certain,” Kreuk added. “But yeah, that would be a lot of fun. I haven’t seen those guys in a long time.”

Smallville, which centered on Superman as a teenager and a young adult, before he donned the iconic suit and cape, premiered in 2001, and aired for 10 seasons, first on The WB and then on The CW. DC continued the series in 2012 in the digital comic Smallville Season Eleven.
