Arrow’s Stephen Amell Reveals His Favorite Villain is Prometheus

The CW’s Arrow has had plenty of DC Comics villains show up in the series, but the Green Arrow himself said above all else, he preferred Josh Segarra’s turn as Adrian Chase/Prometheus.

During a panel at Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in Nashville this weekend, a fan asked Stephen Amell who his favorite villain in the series was, and he made his preference known. He argued that, much like how David Ramsey was vital to the character of John Diggle, Segarra “created Prometheus. I thought that he brought the best out of me and hopefully I brought the best out of him. I just thought that the way that that storyline wrapped up I thought that that made it the best.”

Prometheus served as the primary antagonist for Season 5 as the son of a man Oliver killed years earlier during his tenure as the Hood. Personally trained by Talia al Ghul, Prometheus was obnoxiously competent to the point where he kidnapped all of Team Arrow, sent them to Lian Yu, and rigged the entire island to blow if his heart stopped beating. So of course, he shot himself at the end of last season after Oliver refused to kill him.

Though Prometheus is dead, Segarra reappeared in a recent Arrow episode as Oliver was going through a Vertigo-induced hallucination. His return brought along plenty of taunts and japes at Oliver’s expense, but he hasn’t been seen since.

Airing Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW, Arrow stars Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Emily Bett Rickards, Rick Gonzalez, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Kirk Acevado, Paul Blackthorne and Katie Cassidy. The Season 6 finale arrives May 17.
