Animator Mike Habjan has placed beloved Superman actor Christopher Reeve in the hero’s dark blue costume from the 2013 film Man of Steel, and it looks pretty great.

Habjan, who also produced a short series of videos depicting Reeve’s Superman in an all-out brawl with Lou Ferrigno’s Incredible Hulk, decided to see what the late actor might like in the suit he created years earlier for a 3D model. While in the original videos, Reeve’s Superman wears the iconic costume from the 1970s and ’80s film franchise, here he’s clad in a replica of the suit sported by Henry Cavill in his big-screen debut as the Lost Son of Krypton.
Habjan has already stated this short tease was only for fun, and stressed that he doesn’t plan to produce another video with Reeve’s Superman in this suit fighting the Hulk; he frankly just doesn’t feel like doing it. That said, he may yet create more renders that aren’t tied to his “Superman vs. Hulk” videos.

Reeve, who passed away in 2004 at age 52, of course starred as the Man of Steel in 1978’s Superman: The Movie. He reprised the role in 1980’s Superman II, 1983’s Superman III and 1987’s Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.
