Funimation Adds Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest, Cop Craft?, Demon Lord, Retry! Anime – News


Funimation announced on Tuesday that it will stream Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest, Cop Craft, and Demon Lord, Retry! on FunimationNow starting in July.

The simulcast of the television anime of Ryo Shirakome‘s Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest (Arifureta Shokugyō de Sekai Saikyō) light novel series will premiere on July 8, and the simuldub will premiere on July 22. The series will be available in the Unites States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Funimation describes the story:

Hajime Nagumo and his high school class are suddenly summoned to a fantastical land as heroes. But while most of his classmates have powerful stats and abilities, Hajime does not. Underappreciated and unprepared, he tumbles into the depths of a monster-infested dungeon where voracity and sacrifice are his only options. To thrive in this savage world, he’ll have no choice but to welcome the abyss.

The series will premiere on AT-X at 11:30 p.m. on July 8. The series will debut later that night on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, and BS11, as well as streaming on d Anime Store (Docomo Anime Store). The anime was originally slated to premiere in April 2018 but was delayed to July 2019.

The staff has changed since the anime’s initial announcement. Kinji Yoshimoto (Unbreakable Machine-Doll, Seven Mortal Sins, Genshiken 2) is now directing the anime at WHITE FOX and asread. Chika Kojima (Big Order) is now the new character designer to adapt Takayaki‘s original designs for animation. Shoichi Sato (Yes! Precure 5 GoGo!, Shakugan no Shana episode scriptwriter) and Kinji Yoshimoto (Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin, The Seven Mortal Sins) are supervising and penning the series’ scripts. Ryō Takahashi (Citrus, ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept.) is composing the music.

Funimation‘s simulcast of Cop Craft, the television anime of Shoji Gatoh‘s Cop Craft Dragnet Mirage Reloaded light novel series, will premiere on July 8, and the simuldub will premiere on July 22. The series will be available in the Unites States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

The company describes the story:

15 years ago, a hyper-dimensional rift appeared above the Pacific Ocean linking Earth with a magical world. San-Teresa City became a melting pot of cultures and species, but despite peace on the surface, there’s always an underbelly. That’s where Detective Kei Matoba and knight Tirana come in—partners with different perceptions of life and law, working together to keep the city safe.

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX and BS11 on July 8 at 24:00 (effectively July 9 at 12:00 a.m.), before debuting on KBS Kyoto and AT-X later that night. The series will then premiere on WOWOW on July 10.

Shin Itagaki (2016 Berserk, Teekyū) is directing the anime at Millepensee, and Gatoh himself is in charge of the series scripts. Hiromi Kimura is adapting Range Murata‘s original character designs for animation. Masayoshi Ōishi will perform the opening theme song “Rakuen Toshi,” and Mayu Yoshioka as her character Tilarna Exedilika will perform the ending theme song “Connected.”

The simulcast of the television anime adaptation of Kurone Kanzaki‘s Demon Lord, Retry! (Maō-sama, Retry!) light novel series will premiere on July 3, and the simuldub will premiere on July 17. The series will be available in the Unites States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

On the night of his favorite game’s shutdown, Akira Oono awakens in the body of his online character: Demon Lord Hakuto Kunai. He’s not the most confident guy ever, and he’s traveling with an injured young girl. But with powerful game mechanics and abilities on his side, this gamer turned badass plots his course through a diverse new world filled with saints, demons, and charming companions!

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX on July 3, and on BS Fuji on July 8.

Hiroshi Kimura (Haitai Nanafa both seasons, The Irresponsible Galaxy Tylor, Danchigai) is directing the series at EKACHI EPILKA (Crossing Time). Novelist and scriptwriter Ōka Tanisaki is overseeing the series scripts, and Chiyo Nakayama (key animator for Robotics;Notes, Kuroko’s Basketball all three seasons) is adapting Makoto Iino‘s original character designs for animation.
