Gal Gadot Throws ‘Shade’ on Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 2 X-Force Pose

It seems be a trend for superheroes to make an “X” with their arms these days, most recently with Deadpool doing it in the sequel’s latest trailer to signify X-Force.

But let’s not forget, it all started in Wonder Woman when the titular DC hero iconically crossed her arms to bring out the powers of her bracelets, and again in Black Panther by the Marvel Comics hero throughout his hugely successful film.

Well, Gal Gadot, who plays Diana Prince, wasn’t going to let Ryan Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth get off lightly for stealing her “signature” pose.

Tweeting out a picture of the obscenity-fueled, fourth-wall-breaking mutant, Gadot captioned it with “Dude stole my look,” making it clear that she donned the pose before he did. There’s a good chance that Deadpool is actually referencing Wonder Woman’s iconic pose on purpose, as he’s very aware of everything going on around him — and yes, this includes other superhero blockbuster movies. It just so happens that it symbolizes his newly-formed team perfectly.

Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 stars Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Stefan Kapičić as the voice of Colossus, and Karan Soni as Dopinder, with newcomers Zazie Beetz as Domino, Josh Brolin as Cable, Julian Dennison in an unknown role, and Jack Kesy as a villain widely thought to be Black Tom Cassidy. The film hits theaters on May 18.
