Netflix Lands Titans Live-Action Series Foreign Streaming Rights

Netflix has acquired the international streaming rights to the Titans live-action series, debuting Oct. 12 on DC Universe.

The streaming giant will carry the new series outside of the United States and China, while DC Universe has the exclusive domestic rights to the show.

Rumors had been swirling for the past few weeks that Titans would hit Netflix internationally, but this marks the first confirmation. Unfortunately, however, fans in China will have to wait a bit longer, as the series has yet to secure a streaming home there. The deal between Warner Bros. and Netflix will help bring a cash infusion into the newly launched DC Universe, in much the same way that the international rights agreement for Star Trek: Discovery did for CBS All Access.

The first live-action original series on DC Universe, Titans has been in development since at least 2014. The series was initially targeted for TNT, but after ordering a pilot, the cable network opted not to move forward. Of course, that was quickly followed by the revelation that Warner Bros. was developing the series for its newly launched streaming service. And now, nearly four years after the first announcement, Titans is set to officially premiere in a little less than two weeks.

Debuting Oct. 12 on the DC Universe streaming service, Titans stars Brenton Thwaites as Dick Grayson, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, Ryan Potter as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson as Hawk, Minka Kelly as Dove and Lindsey Gort as Amy Rohrbach.
