One Piece Announces Live-Action Drama Series!

Legendary shonen manga One Piece has announced that the Straw Hat Crew will be plundering their way through a live-action drama!

The first live-action venture of the series in its 20 years, it will be produced as an TV show by Tomorrow Studios, led by Marty Adelstein ( Prison Break, Last Man Standing ). Details on cast, staff and release are still scarce, but it’ll be exciting to see what’s next for this huge project!

As another part of its 20th anniversary celebrations, Jul. 22 has been officially designated as One Piece Day by the Japan Anniversary Association. But why that day? Well, Jul. 22 marks perhaps the most special day in One Piece history – the date it first began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump!

One Piece will also be featured on the covers of over 20 Shueisha magazines, as well as holding a huge collaboration with Kyoto for an all-new treasure-hunting event!

It’s been 20 amazing years, and One Piece is still going strong. Are you looking forward to this massive development?!
